@Dallas Lawn Guy Replied to you on YT about having rocks below my lawn and asking about minimum soil height needed to have decent thick green.

Here are the lawn photos you asked me to post up here.

6in Screwdriver Test just down a little over 2 inches

Well, the good news is it looks like you have full sun so you'll be able to make this lawn pop over time. Lots of people have a tree in the center of their yard and they are battling shade.

As for the rock, that's a tough one. You're doing the right thing. It will fill in more as it heats up even if you don't remove the rock. I can't remember where you said you're from but North Texas isn't growing at full speed until the first week of June. It just doesn't get hot enough before then.

Keep mowing and apply high nitrogen. Screw driver test when you feel like it.

You don't have many weeds at all, so I would hold off on herbicides and just focus on grass growth this season. No PGR either. N and mow twice a week.

Thanks @Dallas Lawn Guy! Appreciate the time the advice. I’m from West TN. I’ll put down that N soon and get to work. I’ll just try to figure out where the rock heavy areas are and put in some elbow grease.

If I’m gonna top dress, even for just the front, how much topsoil should I put in? Or should I just level all my bumpy spots with sand for now?
