Hey folks, I seen some folks using laundry detergent in their lawn care routines. Is laundry detergent actually soap? I heard it can help with certain pests or cleaning, bbut I ain't sure. Could it harm the grass or soil? I could care less about the science behind it, just looking for some real experiences. Do you got any insights?

People do toss laundry detergent into lawn mixes, but honestly, its not the best idea. Laundry detergent isnt real soap - its a bunch of synthetic cleaners, fragrances, enzymes, brighteners, etc. It can definitely irritate pests, but it can also mess with your grass, soil microbes, and even burn spots if you overdo it.
